A leading manufacturer and developer of safety-critical products supplied to the defence sector is seeking a Sales Manager focused on identifying and converting new business opportunities from existing and new customers. This is a permanent position based onsite and in the field.
Location: Commutable from Coventry, Nuneaton, Warwick, Leicester.
Salary: Negotiable + Excellent Benefits including twice yearly bonuses, annual leave with option to purchase additional days, life assurance cover x 3 salary, 5% employer pension contribution, paid leave for armed forces reservists, and paid overtime.
The Role
1. Grow and develop a sales pipeline within the defence and security products sector.
2. Forge strategic partnerships and nurture repeat business opportunities.
3. Use commercial acumen and product expertise to build strong customer relationships.
4. Identify and grow sales opportunities and support bid management to secure major contracts.
5. Represent the business at events and conferences, acting as a brand ambassador.
6. Travel to customer sites, events, and conferences.
7. Maintain an accurate sales forecast and pipeline record.
The Person
1. Proven experience in selling and winning business in the defence or security products sector.
2. Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes in defence manufacturing.
3. Enjoys travelling and engaging with customers.
4. Experience as a successful brand ambassador.
5. Understanding of defence sector sales processes, including requirement capture, RFI/RFQ, and supporting bid and commercial content.
6. Previous experience in the defence or security industry is essential.
