Offer description

Have you a good degree, or equivalent experience in manufacturing or mechanical / process engineering? Do you have CAD skills and a desire to learn, along with a bit (1-2 years ideally) of relevant experience? This is an excellent opportunity to join our client's growing engineering and product development team in Blackburn, working on innovative projects in a highly regulated environment.


Job Description

* Assist with the design and development of new and existing products and processes in line with customer requirements and regulatory standards
* Support the transfer of products from development to pilot and full production
* Create and maintain documentation including quality plans, FMEAs, risk assessments, SOPs and work instructions
* Provide design support across departments, including concept designs, drawings and technical documentation
* Conduct validation activities in line with internal and customer requirements
* Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve design and process issues
* Identify and evaluate new technologies and methods to support product development and business needs
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation
* Attend exhibitions and customer meetings, including occasional overseas travel
* Ensure adherence to QMS, HSE and company policies at all times


Person Specification

Essential:
* Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering/scientific discipline, or significant experience in a regulated engineering role
* Ideally 1-2+ years' experience in an engineering role within a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. automotive, aerospace, medical devices)
* CAD skills using SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar
* Good organisational and communication skills
* A strong desire to learn
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Desirable:
* Awareness of plastics and metals for use in precision engineering
* Knowledge of Lean/continuous improvement methods
* Familiarity with statistical methods for process validation
