<div><p><b>Theatre Practitioner (Bank) – Chaucer Hospital – Bank Shifts – Salary: Up to £25.00 per hour</b> (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)</p><p>We have an opportunity for a Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.</p><p>This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis; you will supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence.</p><h3>Duties of this role include:</h3><ul><li>Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring equipment safety; support the anaesthetist in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning; and provide post‑operative care, monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, and ensuring patient readiness for discharge.</li><li>Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures at all times.</li><li>Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and specific patient requirements.</li><li>Check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults immediately.</li><li>Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient surgical lists.</li><li>Support and contribute to a positive, respectful, and efficient theatre environment.</li></ul><h3>Applicants should meet the following criteria:</h3><ul><li>Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).</li><li>Experience or training in a theatre environment in at least one area (scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery).</li><li>Understanding of infection control, manual handling, and patient safety principles.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure, problem‑solve, and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to safe surgical practice.</li></ul><h3>Salary & Benefits:</h3><p>Circle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate.</p></div>
