Position Purpose:
The role of the Team Leader is to oversee the operation of the plant and its associated equipment, so as to achieve maximum plant availability and productivity during their shift.
Main aspects of the job function are to provide shift or day cover for the plant and ensure that waste throughput is safely controlled to company operational procedures and legislative guidelines.
Key Job Activities:
1. Supervise all operatives on the shift.
2. Supervise and assist in the processing of the waste within the plant.
3. Ensure compliance with site licence and other applicable legislation.
4. Ensure adherence to BMS.
5. Ensure efficient use of resources, manpower and materials within the plant and make cost savings wherever possible.
6. Record any service, quality, compliance or legislative shortfalls and take the appropriate action.
7. Ensure proper recording and processing of documentation.
8. Ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained.
9. Enforce outlined Standard Operational Procedures and company instructions.
10. Ensure effective communications across the shifts.
11. Observe and enforce Health & Safety Regulations, other relevant legislation and safe working practices.
12. Rectify equipment faults and defects of any nature where possible and make reports to the Plant Manager.
13. Assist and maintain the training of employees on the shift.
14. Maintain quality control checks on a regular basis.
15. Prioritise operations on site.
16. Plan and assist with implementing plant improvements in conjunction with the operational managers.
Education:
High School or equivalent.
Experience (EMEAA):
1. Good organisation skills and attention to detail.
2. Good communicator both written and verbal.
3. Ability to work without supervision.
4. Ability to manage time and complete multi tasks in line with timescales.
5. Reasonable knowledge of information technology especially Microsoft Excel and e-mail.
6. Self-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic.
7. A team player and motivator, able to work effectively under pressure and who is looking for a challenge.
8. Formal craft requirement is an advantage.
9. Some people management training would be an advantage.
