The Best Connection are looking for a CHEF DE PARTIE for our client's prestigious venue near Howden. This is initially a temporary position with a view to becoming PERMANENT following a successful trial period As a Chef within the Kitchen team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a fantastic guest experience and learn plenty about food preparation and delivery at the same time. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel to a high standard. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Documenting each morning what is required before they prepare the day's dishes * Cleaning and organising the food preparation area, ensuring COSHH and HACCAP guidelines are achieved. * Helping to develop an exceptional team under the guidance of the head chef * Addressing and resolving diner's and client's complaints quickly * Monitoring the kitchen area and the staff to ensure sanitation standards are maintained * Ensuring all food products to be prepared are not expired SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE: * Great experience in leading banqueting / large functions * In-depth knowledge of the kitchen's routines and utensils * Ability to grasp and follow the leading chef's culinary instructions * Knowledge of food preparation methods and presentation * Knowledge of how to maintain and care for culinary utensils * Diplomatic and conflict resolution skills * Leadership skills * Ability to work under pressure through rapid deadlines * Be a talented team player * To be proactive and 'ahead of the game' in terms of menu and food development * Own transport due to the remote location HOURS, PAY AND BENEFITS: * Full-time * Permanent position following a successful trial period * Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour subject to skills and experience * Expected hours: No less than 40 per week * Tips * Free parking
