OCU Hornbill (Part of the OCU Group)currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HV DesignEngineer. As we continue to grow through 2024 this has provided uswith an opportunity to grow and develop our team based inNeath.
Duties andResponsibilities:
* UndertakeHigh voltage designs including Fault studies Protection Design andGrading SLD production Cable Calculations and Electrical Drawingsthat align with client specifications and industrystandards.
* Work closely with clients projectmanagers and internal teams to understand project requirementspropose design solutions and provide regular updates on projectprogress.
* Provide support during the design andcommissioning phase troubleshooting and resolving any electricalissues that may arise.
* Stay up to date with thelatest advancements in High Voltage technology and electricalengineering and apply this knowledge to enhance our designprocesses and offerings.
* Prepare detailedelectrical schematics Site layouts wiring diagrams and othernecessary technical documentation to support the design build andcommissioning process.
* Client liaison bothexisting and new via site visits and meetingsetc.
* Ensure the highest levels of quality aremet.
Key Skills andExperience:
* BSc/MSc inElectrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Provenexperience in designing HV Systems.
* Proficiencyin industrystandard design software (e.g. AutoCAD ETAPTrimble).
* Strong knowledge of HV ElectricalEquipment and Cabling
* Familiarity with relevantindustry codes and standards.
* Solidunderstanding of electrical principles circuitry and controlsystems.
* Excellent problemsolvingskills.
* Effective communication and teamworkabilities.
* Ability to think strategically todeliver both the company and departmentalobjectives.
* Commercially aware and financiallyliterate.
* High computer literacy with advancednumerical and analytical skills to manage multiple data sets anddrive insights.
* Outstanding attention to detailand able to recall large volumes of data.
* Ableto plan prioritise and manage a heavy workload and delegateappropriately.
