Founder’s Associate – Early-Career Role (AI & Compliance)
📍 Location: Central London, (Primarily office-based)
💰 Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 + Equity
🕒 Start Date: ASAP
About the Opportunity
I’m hiring for a Founder’s Associate to join an early-stage AI company transforming a large, complex certification and compliance space using AI-native, agentic systems.
You’ll work directly with the founders as a true force multiplier across strategy, operations, product and commercial work. This is a brilliant opportunity for a top Russell Group graduate with internship experience or 1–2 years in a demanding environment who wants high ownership, steep learning, and exposure to how an AI start-up is really built.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the “go-to” person for high-priority, often ambiguous projects, helping turn ideas into reality:
Founder Support & Special Projects
* Work closely with the founders on high-impact strategic and operational projects
* Turn vision into clear plans, timelines and measurable outcomes
* Take on “zero-to-one” projects that don’t yet sit with any team
Strategy, Operations & Execution
* Build simple dashboards, reports and frameworks to track product, sales and operations
* Improve internal processes, tooling and workflows as the company scales
* Own projects end-to-end – from problem definition through to delivered result
Product, Customer & Go-To-Market Support
* Support early customer calls, discovery, demos and feedback sessions
* Help structure complex customer workflows and requirements into clear problem statements
* Work with engineering to translate real-world needs into concise product specs
Investor, Board & External Comms
* Contribute to investor updates, board materials and fundraising decks
* Support market research, competitor mapping and strategic positioning
* Help create clear, punchy materials (decks, one-pagers, case studies) for external stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Education
* Degree from a Russell Group university in any rigorous discipline (e.g. Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, PPE, Maths, Natural Sciences, Management, etc.)
Experience
* Strong internships and/or up to 1–2 years’ experience in a demanding environment such as:
* Management consulting
* High-growth start-up or scale-up
* Founder’s office / strategy / operations / product / VC / analytics
* Comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative information
Skills & Mindset
* Excellent structured thinking – you can break messy problems into clear steps
* Strong communication and slide-building skills (PowerPoint / Google Slides)
* Confident with numbers and basic analysis (Excel / Google Sheets)
* Tech-curious and excited by AI, data and automation (you don’t need to be an engineer)
* High ownership: you enjoy being trusted with important problems and driving them to completion
* Bias to action: you move quickly, iterate and care about outcomes over theatrics
Personal Qualities
* Comfortable working closely with senior people and contributing your own views
* Low ego, collaborative, and happy to do whatever is needed – from strategy decks to hands-on ops
* Thrives in early-stage ambiguity – you like bringing structure where none exists yet
Why This Role Stands Out
💡 Founder-Level Exposure: Work side-by-side with the founders on the company’s most important questions and projects.
🚀 Steep Learning Curve: See the full picture of an AI start-up – product, go-to-market, operations, fundraising and more.
🌍 Meaningful Space: Help modernise a critical global compliance industry using AI-native, agentic systems.
🎯 Generalist Career Platform: Build a rare, full-stack operator skill set – ideal for future founders, operators, product leaders or senior business leaders.
💼 Compensation & Ownership: £35,000 – £50,000 base salary plus equity, with real scope to grow as the company scales.
