Our client, an Oil and Gas operator is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician, ideally to start asap and contract duration is 12 months (PAYE contract), with the potential to go staff or be extended. This is a site-based role, working 7 on and 7 off day shift rotational pattern, working 11-hour shifts (7.30am-6.30pm) RESPONSIBILITIES: To execute routine and non-routine maintenance activities efficiently to agreed processes / procedures and operational requirements Investigates complex technical problems relating to critical plant, identifies solutions and acts to return plant to normal operating service with minimal supervision Prepares and presents technical reports and maintains appropriate records of activities within recognised systems Inspection and maintenance of instrumentation equipment in hazardous areas Carries out commissioning and de-commissioning activities to meet planned plant operating programmes,organising and planning own and vendor work scopes Liaise with operational/production staff and Technicians in other disciplines to ensure a safe and effective approach to tasks within the overall operational and maintenance programme Trained to be competent in a range of activities ancillary to his/her core discipline. Supervises other staff and vendor/contractor employees in undertaking work activities. Promotes a positive Incident Free Workplace culture by driving HSES and process safety performance and regulatory compliance through adherence to company standards & procedures, including the CMAPP and HSES Policy. Perform nominated emergency response role/duties and maintain the necessary competencies to perform these duties. REQUIREMENTS: A BTEC Higher National Certificate or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject. Experience of the maintenance of high-pressure process plant and equipment. The job holder must have sufficient knowledge of procedures and be able to relate them to the work activities to ensure a safe approach and that appropriate permitry/controls are requested and in place.
