Legal Cashier – Law Staff Legal Recruitment
Location & Working Model
London / Home working. Hybrid model with 2–3 days in office per department head.
Salary
C£40+, dependent on experience.
Start Date
ASAP.
Responsibilities
* Monitor client account, check monies received and inform relevant fee earners.
* Daily bank reconciliation and daily balancing of controls.
* Processing BACS, CHAPS, Faster and international payments using online banking system.
* Posting all incoming and outgoing transactions onto a case management system.
* Identifying and allocating office receipts and payments.
* Client to office account transfers.
* Assisting in the management of aged debt and processing bills.
* Uploading disbursements records on the case management system.
* Helping with various projects including inactive matters, residual balances, and file storage.
* Maintaining an organised electronic filing system.
* Resolving accounts queries and working with fee earners on their ledger balances.
Qualifications & Essential Experience
* 3–4 years’ experience working in a solicitor’s firm.
* Good understanding of the Solicitors Accounting Rules (SAR’s) and VAT Rules.
* Knowledge of AML Regulations.
* Experienced in daily bank reconciliation and daily balancing of controls.
* Proficient in the use of MS Excel and Word.
* Strong organisational skills and eye for detail.
* Ability to prioritise sometimes conflicting deadlines and work flexibly with high volumes and tight deadlines.
* Systems oriented.
Ideal Knowledge but Not Essential
* Knowledge and experience in Practice Evolve case management system.
* Some experience on double entry bookkeeping.
