We are seeking a Project Quality Engineer to join the team based at Pembridge, Herefordshire on a full time basis 39 hours per week Monday - Friday for 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave. We are looking for someone who would be able to start in the role as soon as possible.
Overview of the position
The Project Quality Engineer is responsible for administering the Quality expectations of Change Management Excellence (CMEX) and Change Management expectations in general.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Head of Quality / Director to establish a framework to deliver quality related deliverables in CMEX, based on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles.
2. Suggest, test, implement and maintain any software used to support the co-ordination of APQP activities.
3. Devise procedures outlining APQP Principles.
4. Facilitate Design Failure Modes Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) sessions and raise significant risks for appropriate mitigation.
5. Ensure Research and Development (R&D) have access to FMEA’s, serving as a source of lessons learnt for next generation products.
6. Highlight any undesirable risks, so they can either be designed out or mitigated with poka yoke or improved detection (Sensors, Statical Process Control (SPC), Gauges etc).
7. Support the design and execution of test plans for new and existing process changes.
8. Calculate and monitor process capability, using a representative sample.
9. Support the commission of any new laboratory equipment (purchased specifically to support a new project), including but not limited to calibration, service, master samples, SSW’s and G R&R’s.
10. Where inline sensors are used to detect errors within the process itself, consideration shall be given to the testing and maintenance of these.
11. Support the CMEX Team to deliver projects and changes in line with expected milestones.
12. Present regular status updates at CMEX Meetings.
13. Compile handover packs and facilitate gate review and project hand overs.
14. Provide a framework that ensures any post project process changes are referred back to the PFMEA, so they can be assessed objectively in regards to their potential impact on process risk.
15. Support Supply Chain Quality with any Qualification Plans, needed to support high risk changes in the supply chain.
16. Train other departments in the use and interpretation of quality tools and techniques.
What we are looking for in our Project Quality Engineer
You will have:
17. Degree level education in a technical or quality related discipline
18. Six Sigma Green Belt qualification
19. Experience within a similar Quality role
20. Understanding of Quality tools such as FMEA, Control Charts, GR&R, SPC, Capability Analysis, Poka Yoke 8D etc
21. Ability to interpret analyse and present data
22. Good communication skills
23. Experience of statistical software techniques such as MINITAB
24. Attention to detail
25. Ability to manage projects
26. Risk based thinking skills
Whilst not essential, it would be of benefit to have:
27. Chartered Quality Professional status
28. Six Sigma Black Belt
