Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 1 Class Teacher to join our vibrant and welcoming school in Hemel Hempstead from Easter 2025. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the academic and personal development of our Year 1 students.
As a Year 1 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons that foster a love of learning, while supporting the academic and social development of the children in your class. You will play a key role in guiding children through their transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) into Key Stage 1, providing a solid foundation for their future learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that are engaging, creative, and tailored to the needs of Year 1 students.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where children can thrive and develop their independence.
* Assess and track the progress of students, providing timely and constructive feedback to both children and parents.
* Support childrens social, emotional, and academic development, promoting key skills such as communication, problem-solving, and collaboration.
* Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, working together to ensure every childs success.
* Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
* Maintain accurate records of childrens progress and achievements in line with school policies.
* Participate in staff meetings, parent consultations, and school-wide events.
* Engage in continuous professional development to further enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Key Requirements:
* A valid teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in teaching within a primary school setting, ideally in Key Stage 1.
* A deep understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and the developmental needs of children in this age group.
* A passion for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Ability to manage a classroom effectively and encourage positive behaviour.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
* Experience in supporting children with additional needs (SEN).
* Knowledge of current initiatives in primary education.
