## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House, Clyde Road, Ōtautahi Christchurch****Permanent part-time totalling 10 hours per week.**Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is looking for an engaging visitor host for this significant visitor experience and museum - the former home of New Zealand's suffragist leader, Kate Sheppard and campaign hub for the Aotearoa New Zealand's Women's Suffrage Petition.The visitor host assists in all levels of day-to-day operations of the museum including delivering engaging guided tours to groups, day to day events and bookings, assisting with exhibitions, public programmes and delivering events.Our ideal candidate will be passionate about women's history and heritage and will be able to deliver high quality tours to a diverse range of groups of all ages and school groups.You will be a strong communicator, with the ability to confidently share Kate Sheppard's life and legacy and the history of the suffrage movement and campaign. **Essential:**Experience speaking to large groupsAn ability to build on knowledge of the property's history and share it an engaging wayGood level of administrative tasks, including data collection, POS, visitor bookings and merchandising.A reasonable level of physical fitness to set up/pack down event space and clean spaces.**Desirable:**Ability to work unsupervised as part of a close-knit teamStrong organisational skills and efficiencyRetail experience and familiarity with Point of SaleExperience following best Health and Safety practice**Advantageous:**Understanding of stakeholder engagement and an appreciation of tikanga Māori.A relevant qualification in the arts, humanities or heritage and/or a working understanding of New Zealand histories.Hourly rate $29.95 per hour.
