Stores & Configuration Support – Trainee Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our technical operations running smoothly—managing hardware, supporting configuration activities, and ensuring that assets are tracked, maintained, and fully operational. This role is perfect for someone who is organised, proactive, and eager to learn. You’ll gain experience across asset management, configuration support, auditing, and basic engineering tasks, working alongside experienced IT professionals who will help guide your development. Initial training will take place at our Alton facility, followed by ongoing support at the Farnborough site as you grow into the role. Key Responsibilities Update and maintain the Asset Register Track movement of IT equipment Keep stores organised and secure Monitor stock levels and handle goods in/out Manage secure disposal of assets Conduct asset audits across multiple sites Produce reports and maintain documentation Assist with commissioning/decommissioning hardware & software Install/remove licences Support patching and basic on-site engineering Prepare kit for projects Assist with PAT testing (training provided) Escort visitors Escalate issues to the Team Leader Follow procedures accurately Physical Requirements This is an active role requiring the ability to: Lift and carry IT equipment (including on stairs and between floors) Work at height when needed Work safely in confined/restricted spaces (Training on manual handling, working at height, and confined spaces is provided.)
