Role: EHCP Coordinator

Location: Tresham College – Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough Campuses

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £30,915 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking an EHCP Coordinator to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.

As an EHCP Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

1. EHCP & High Needs Support Delivery – Provide high‑quality support for students with EHCPs and High Needs Funding, ensuring effective transition into college and strong progression in line with learner aspirations.
2. Monitoring, Reviews & Progress Tracking – Lead annual reviews and termly progress meetings, prepare statutory reports, coordinate Person‑Centred reviews and ensure EHCP outcomes are clearly shared and monitored across curriculum areas.
3. Staff Training, Awareness & Collaboration – Deliver training and guidance for curriculum teams, raise awareness of learner needs, build strong professional relationships and ensure support strategies are effectively embedded.
4. Quality Assurance, Reporting & Observations – Complete in‑class observations, contribute to Performance Monitoring and SAR processes, ensure support is used effectively and maintain high compliance with statutory duties.
5. College‑Wide Engagement & Professional Duties– Participate in events, meetings and cross‑campus activity while upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and engaging in ongoing training and role‑specific development.

About you:

6. Qualifications & SEND Expertise – A‑Levels (or equivalent), Degree/vocational qualification in Education/Health/Social Sciences, GCSE‑level English and Maths, with strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
7. Experience Supporting Learners with SEND – Significant experience working with young people with SEND, including those supported through EHCPs, leading annual reviews, liaising with parents/carers/professionals and supporting learners in FE settings.
8. Knowledge of Education, Safeguarding & Professional Standards – Strong understanding of post‑16 pathways, safeguarding, equality, diversity and confidentiality, with up‑to‑date awareness of FE developments and inclusive practice.
9. Communication, Reporting & Collaborative Working – Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce professional reports, work with diverse student groups, collaborate with curriculum/support teams and build positive stakeholder relationships.
10. Organisation, Values & Professional Conduct – Highly organised, able to prioritise workloads, work under pressure, act on own initiative, uphold college values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty) and maintain safeguarding boundaries while working flexibly across sites.
