IGA are supporting a long-standing client to hire a Sustainability & Carbon Reporting Manager into their central environment team, based in the UK, where you’ll play a key role in helping a major transport organisation drive its transition to net zero.
To help you picture this: our client is a leading UK transport operator with ambitious science-based targets in place to reach net zero emissions by 2050. They’re already making significant progress, with hundreds of thousands of tonnes of Scope 1 and 2 emissions being tackled annually, and a clear, credible roadmap for decarbonisation across their business operations.
This role sits at the center of the group-wide sustainability and carbon strategy — reporting into the Head of Environment and working closely with stakeholders across bus, rail, and corporate functions. You’ll lead on sustainability performance, regulatory compliance, ESG reporting and engagement, and help embed sustainability into long-term business planning and supply chain decisions.
You’ll be involved in:
* Managing compliance with UK environmental reporting requirements (e.g. SECR, ESOS)
* Leading non-financial disclosures for the Annual Report & Accounts
* Coordinating ESG rating submissions (e.g. MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics) and investor engagement
* Supporting alignment with climate disclosure frameworks such as TCFD and the Transition Plan Taskforce
* Driving Scope 3 emissions reduction and embedding sustainability into procurement processes
* Monitoring legislation and industry best practices around biodiversity, nature-related disclosures, and net-zero strategy
This is a great opportunity for someone with 6+ years' experience in sustainability and carbon reporting, ideally from a complex or regulated industry. You’ll need to be confident working with data, communicating sustainability performance to senior stakeholders, and managing multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment.
