The Vacancy
Wates has an opportunity for a Project Surveyor to join our team within the Planned Maintenance division. You will be based out of our Merseyside office, working on one of our contracts. The role involves taking accountability for developing and implementing all pre- and post-contract strategies, managing commercial functions, and contract reporting.
Key Accountabilities
1. Develop and promote project team performance, ensuring Wates’ contractual obligations and strategies are executed and regularly reviewed.
2. Complete and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and progress reports.
3. Understand internal and external tender strategies and build-up.
4. Agree on external valuations and cash flow to maximize project value.
5. Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to finalize main and subcontract final accounts.
6. Ensure all subcontract management and process obligations are completed, including procurement, measurement and valuation, contractual instructions, notices, orders, and health and safety compliance.
To succeed in this role, you should possess relevant commercial skills and experience, including maximizing value recovery, cost control, and cash management. You should be proficient in understanding financial reports and final accounts.
You will also need to be a confident communicator, capable of building and maintaining relationships with clients, project surveyors, design teams, and supply chains. A commitment to leading and developing commercial site teams is essential.
