About the Role…
We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic Accessories Designer to join our design team. This is the perfect opportunity for a candidate with a flair for design and a love of Accessories — from Bags to belts and small accessories, across mens' and ladies product.
The purpose of this role is to design trend-led, commercial collections, that sit in line with brand guidelines & customer requirements.
It is the responsibility of the accessories designer to ensure our customer receives amazing products at a price point. Working closely with departments across the wider team to ensure we get the best product possible at competitive prices points and in time scales required.
You will be part of a team of creatives, helping to bring fresh ideas to life.
· Interpret trends and translate them into commercial ideas to suit the customer profile.
· Create detailed CADs for, and liaise with the customer at in-person meetings and virtually.
· Create detailed technical specifications for Far East and UK factories, seeing the design process through from concept to final sample.
· Track, record and photograph samples
· Co-ordinate and prepare samples to be sent out to customers
· Prepare seasonal trend presentation boards and track competitor activity.
· Source fabrics and trims
· Respond promptly to customer and factory enquiries with quick response decision making
· Communicate and co-ordinate with relevant internal departments
· Produce high quality work to targets and tight deadlines
· Work with the team to manage sample inventory and design archives
· Take part in comp shopping trips and market research
About You…
· A minimum of 2-3 years' industry experience in a similar field
· Relevant qualification within accessories or footwear design.
· Strong technical knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and other associated Adobe software (Photoshop and In Design)
· Possess a true passion for fashion showcasing a strong portfolio with understanding of accessories.
· Trend and commercially aware with a strong eye for design.
· A proactive team player with strong communication and organisational skills and high attention to detail.
· Originality and efficiency to thrive within a close-knit team of creative thinkers
· Good interpersonal skills
· Problem solving and adaptability
· Strong presentation skills
· Hold full driving licence, access to a vehicle and live within easily commutable distance of Uppingham
