This is an exciting opportunity to join the Thames Valley Operational Delivery Network (ODN) Hepatology Nursing Team, supporting high‑quality care for patients living with viral hepatitis and a wide range of liver conditions across both community and secondary care settings.
Based primarily in Buckinghamshire, the postholder will work closely with the wider ODN team to deliver specialist nursing input, contribute to service development, and participate in local, regional, and national initiatives aimed at improving liver health outcomes.
The Thames Valley ODN for Hepatitis C is committed to achieving the elimination of Hepatitis C as a public health threat ahead of the WHO target.
The successful candidate will play a key role in reaching underserved populations, enhancing access to testing and treatment, and supporting the ongoing transformation of this dynamic service.
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (Adult) who is motivated, flexible, and eager to develop advanced clinical skills within an evolving specialty. You must be able to work autonomously, demonstrate strong initiative, and adapt confidently when managing a diverse range of clinical scenarios and challenges.

Main duties of the job
You will need a flexible and adaptable approach to working within a collaborative team environment that values innovation, new ideas, and continuous service development. This role supports the delivery of high‑quality care for patients with Hepatitis C and a wide range of other liver conditions, and involves working across both secondary care and community settings.
The postholder will play a key role in the testing, assessment, and management of liver disease, undertaking activities such as outreach clinics, targeted testing campaigns, GP engagement, and partnership work with drug and alcohol services, mobile health units, and the prison healthcare system. There will be increasing opportunities to support broader liver health initiatives, including early identification of liver disease, fibrosis assessment, lifestyle interventions, and pathways for patients with chronic liver disease.
This post will primarily cover the Buckinghamshire area within the Thames Valley region.
You will be encouraged to develop specialist competencies in hepatology, outreach and engagement skills, and innovative models of care as part of a growing and forward‑thinking service.
