An ambitious and innovative school in Abingdon is seeking a Design and Technology Teacher to join its expanding Technology and Engineering faculty from September 2025. The school champions modern approaches to DT, including sustainability, real-world design challenges, and student-led problem-solving.
The Role:
The successful candidate will teach KS3–KS4 DT, with opportunities to specialise in Product Design, Engineering, or Food Preparation and Nutrition depending on expertise. The department benefits from modern equipment, including 3D printers, CNC routers, and laser cutters, as well as refurbished food rooms.
Main Responsibilities:

Deliver a curriculum that blends traditional craftsmanship with innovation and design thinking

Encourage sustainability, digital design, and student agency
*
Support student projects, coursework, and competitions such as F1 in Schools or Young Engineers
*
Take a proactive role in maintaining equipment, managing materials, and leading safe workshop practice
Ideal Candidate:

DT or Engineering-related degree with QTS
*
Experience teaching Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Food Tech
*
Enthusiastic about emerging tech and industrial trends
*
Creative, practical, and committed to inclusive teaching
