Design & Technology (DT) Teacher – Secondary School
Position: DT Teacher (Any DT Specialism Welcome)
Start Date: Easter
Milk Education is supporting a forward‑thinking secondary school in the Wirral to appoint an enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for creativity, problem‑solving, and hands‑on learning.
The school welcomes teachers from any DT specialism, and applicants with experience in similar roles, such as workshop instructors, engineering tutors, vocational trainers, or technology‑based teaching positions.
About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, fostering curiosity and confidence in a practical learning environment. You will join a supportive department with excellent facilities.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3–KS4
2. Cover any DT specialisms such as Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, Resistant Materials, Textiles, or Food Technology
3. Maintain a safe and well‑organised workshop environment
4. Assess and track pupil progress
5. Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement
Essential Requirements
6. Experience working in UK secondary schools is essential
7. DT teaching experience or experience in a similar practical/technical role
8. QTS or relevant teaching/training qualifications
9. Strong practical skills and subject knowledge
10. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Milk Education)
