Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to the key responsibilities below.
Applicants will need to demonstrate an understanding of the Section 38/278 and 104 Process along with a good level of engineering knowledge, including a working knowledge of NHBC Standards and service infrastructure requirements.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage the adoption process and chair the required meetings with the relevant authorities.
Key Responsibilities
* General engineering support to the Head of Engineering and the Commercial, Land, Sales and Build departments.
* Commission site surveys and reports from external consultants and the design team.
* Coordinate and manage Archaeology, Ecology & Acoustic surveys & ensure contains included in design information.
* Coordinate and management of Pre Construction Information and risk management.
* Management of site fees and budgets.
* Attend and contribute to design team, engineering, pre-start and site progress meetings as required for each development.
* Review and check design solutions for road sewers, drainage and proposed levels etc. for technical approval submissions and procurement packages.
* Aid with checking of Roads & Sewers enquiries and payments.
* Ensure all design solutions are the most cost effective, practical and comply with planning, building regulations and NHBC/LABC standards.
* Actively seek value engineering opportunities.
* The co-ordination and administration of utility service disconnections and the diversion of existing utility apparatus.
* The co-ordination and administration of the new utility mains and services connections designs and quotations.
* The co-ordination and administration of final surfacing visits on the development.
* The co-ordination and administration of S38/278 and S104 legal agreements and sewer requisitions.
* Secure S38/278 roads and S104 sewers adoptions where required and co-ordinate the bonds through to adoption including POS adoption/transfers and the handover of management companies where necessary.
* Arranging inspections with the relevant authorities and subcontractors to progress adoptions as required.
* Undertake regular site visits and check that the works carried out comply with the drawings, specifications and are to the required standards and that any testing or validation criteria has been satisfied. Review design development to allow construction of works to follow safety working practices and be in accordance with current legislation and Company Policy & Procedures.
* Assist in obtaining services quotations and designs and providing the required information to enable quotation and design.
* Closely monitor the design program.
* Handover areas to be transferred to management companies including landscaping and play areas.
Skills and Qualifications
* Further education in construction or engineering-related disciplines.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
* Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Skilled at task prioritisation to adapt to changing business needs; proactive with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Dependable with a proactive, approachable, and hands-on attitude.
* Competent in essential IT tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

* Holder of a full UK driving licence.
