What you will do
* Manage and co‑ordinate functions within the Hospital Pharmacy Department, ensuring work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
* Oversee and develop allocated staff and plan service delivery in alignment with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Professional Standards for Hospital Pharmacy Services.
* Conduct functional assessments of patients’ abilities to comply with medication regimens and mentor staff in training.
* Provide up‑to‑date clinical knowledge and promote best clinical practices.
* Train and assess others against competency standards.
* Liaise with hospital discharge staff, GP practices, Social Care staff, and community pharmacies to ensure accurate medicines reconciliation for discharged patients.
* Participate in initial patient medication assessments for newly admitted individuals and ensure follow‑up consultations as required.
* Handle contained medicines on a frequent daily basis.
Requirements
* Must be a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Must hold a recognised technician qualification such as a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians, or equivalent (e.g., NVQ/BTEC/apprenticeship).
* Previous NHS or hospital experience is highly advantageous.
