1. Proven experience working as a Java Software Engineer on large microservice architectures
2. Active Security Clearance (SC)
3. Strong capability building scalable RESTful APIs and backend services in Java (Spring Boot):
4. Postgres (or other relational SQL databases) with solid understanding of schema design and SQL
5. Docker: Confident containerising and deploying applications
6. Test‑Driven Development (JUnit & Mockito or similar testing frameworks)
7. CI/CD: Hands‑on experience with Jenkins or similar automated pipeline tooling
8. Flexibility working in agile teams and collaborating closely with engineers, product, and design colleagues
Nice to have:
9. API Specification using Swagger / OpenAPI
10. Gradle build systems
11. Liquibase (or similar) for database versioning/migrations
12. Kafka or similar event‑streaming platforms
13. React and Typescript
