We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Analystto join our dynamic Finance Team. You will work closely with the FinanceBusiness Partners (FBP) to provide crucial analytical support that forms thefoundation of the assistance given to practice groups and sectors. The roleinvolves delivering high-quality financial information and analysis in aconsistent and interpretable format, aiding in decision-making and supportingthe firm's financial objectives.
This a permanent position, based in our Bristol office withsome travel to our London and Reading offices.
The team
Our Commercial Finance and Pricing team is made of two subteams which includes FP&A focused firmwide reporting, planning, budgetingand the coordination of key BAU activities, and the Finance Business Partneringteam who are focused providing strategic financial support, pricing assistanceand commercial training. We have a new opportunity for an experienced SeniorFinance Analyst to join our FBP team.
What you'll do
The Senior Finance Analyst will assist in producing regularreporting packs, pricing requests, commercial training and providing ad hocanalysis to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with your line manager (FBP) to deliver robust financial business partnering to UK practice groups and sectors, aiming to enhance financial performance. This includes preparation work for management meetings and presentations.
* Provide high-quality analytical support for long-term business planning, annual budgets, and monthly forecasts for assigned practice groups and sectors.
* Ensure all month-end close activities are completed on time, including the monthly management information packs with insightful, action-based commentary. Identify areas to create efficiencies in monthly processes and add additional insights where possible.
* Proactively build and maintain relationships with relevant fee-earning and business services stakeholders to assist in achieving the firm's strategic objectives.
* Support quarterly sector meetings by ensuring the required information is provided, including ad hoc analysis and management information packs for sector leaders.
* Drive the administration of the firm's pricing policy by providing pricing analysis and support to partners and the Bids team. Ensure our pricing support tracking system is kept updated.
* Collaborate with the Finance Business Partners to drive profitability improvement by supporting Client Relationship Partners with client profitability deep dives.
* Participate in the delivery of commercial awareness training to fee earners and business services.
* Proactively drive forward firm-wide tactical objectives to increase productivity and profitability, including supporting lead FBPs by investigating large data sets and extracting insights and trends.
* Investigate and resolve financial queries from the business in a timely manner.
* Provide ad hoc financial analysis, client reporting, and project support as needed.
* Act as a role model to other analysts in the team, providing coaching and guidance.
We are looking for:
* Experience working as a senior analyst within a legal or professional services background.
* Fully qualified or in the final stages of a professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
* Excellent numeracy and problem-solving skills.
* Advanced Excel skills, including a robust understanding of formulas and large dataset manipulation.
* Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Proven interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in engaging with senior stakeholders.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively within a team or independently.
