Strabane & District Caring Services has part-time contracts available for Domiciliary Care Workers to provide care in the community in the Cityside & Waterside areas of Derry/Londonderry. The Domiciliary Care worker will work as part of a team providing personal, domestic and social care at home to vulnerable individuals in the community (including frail elderly, those with physical and learning disabilities and mental health).
Responsibilities
* Providing domiciliary health care and other services to the community.
* Work as part of a team to provide personal and domestic care.
Skills and Qualifications
* A full valid driving licence and access to transport for work purposes.
* Good written and oral communication.
* Work as part of a team.
* Understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
* Able to promote dignity and respect in care delivery.
* Carers must be flexible and able to cover additional hours when necessary promote dignity and respect in care delivery.
* Able to promote and deliver personal care.
* 6 months experience in formal care setting.
* NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent.
* NISCC registered or willing to undertake if successful.
* Knowledge of domiciliary care minimum standards.

Rota: 4 days x 3 days / Week 1: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun / Week 2: Wed, Thurs, Fri.This position falls within the exceptions set out in Article 10(2)(b) of the Sex Discrimination (Northern Ireland) Order 1976 (as amended).
