Overview
Are you enthusiastic about enabling children and young people to participate in all areas of life as best they can? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s OT Team in the London Borough of Redbridge. The team is based in a purpose-built centre, co-located with other health and local authority children’s services, with access to clinical space and close working relations with multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
* Lead on the specific pathway to identify accurate and robust information for EHCP provision.
* Manage a caseload of children and young people with varying degrees of needs and disabilities affecting functional performance, participation and independence, within the SEN caseload to determine accurate advice for EHCP provision.
* Plan and coordinate service delivery with oversight of the caseload and high standards of time management and organisational skills.
* Provide highly specialist assessment and advanced therapeutic skills, striving to equip children and young people to develop independence and self-management and to participate in activities that support leading full and happy lives.
* Support service development and contribute to the training and development of junior colleagues, peers and students; collaborate with managers and other therapists to develop the service.
* Work as part of a team and communicate effectively to ensure an integrated service for children, young people and their families/carers in Redbridge.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Band 6 or 7 experience in children's community services is desirable.
* Experience delivering comprehensive face-to-face clinic assessments and leading service delivery planning.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-based approach.
* Willingness to develop leadership and clinical skills through supervision and training opportunities.
* Ability to manage and supervise caseloads and support junior staff and students.
Additional Information
* High Cost Area Supplement (Outer London): 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714; maximum £5,941 per annum, pro rata for part-time).
* This post may be suitable for a Band 6 therapist with relevant experience ready for Band 7 responsibilities or a Band 7 therapist seeking a new challenge.
* Probationary period applies.
