About the Role
We’re looking for an Allied Health Assistant to join our skilled team in a maternity leave cover position within the acute medical wards. This is a dynamic and varied role that requires quick thinking and strong interpersonal skills. You’ll support patients by encouraging safe movement, exercise, and independence in their recovery. While experience in a similar role is preferred, we’re most interested in someone who’s eager to learn and consistently demonstrates our organisational values in their daily work.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Allied Health Therapies team is a dynamic, patient-focused group of professionals who work together to deliver effective and compassionate care. Based at the Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings, we foster collaboration and support professional development in a multidisciplinary setting.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A Level 4 Health and Disability Qualification or willingness to complete one within two years
* Experience in the health/disability sector or with rehabilitation equipment is desirable
* Confidence working independently in people’s homes and within a team
* Effective communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients and whānau
