WEX Europe is a leading provider of Fuel cards. We manage a range of flexible fuel cards in several key markets across Europe, and due to ongoing growth, we are looking to recruit a Credit Analyst to join our Credit team.
The Credit Risk team is responsible for monitoring customer spend against their authorized Credit limits, underwriting all applications across eight European countries, assessing and measuring the risk of extending Credit to all applicants. We proactively manage our portfolio by continuously monitoring the financial condition and performance of our customers.
Our portfolio covers a wide range of business types and sizes, from small enterprises to large corporate businesses and institutions.

Key Responsibilities of the Credit Analyst:
* Assess and measure the risk of extending credit to all applicants
* Evaluate the financial position and creditworthiness of applications
* Interpret and translate financial statements, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and management accounts
* Strive to accept all business by managing higher risk customers through reduced terms, securities, etc.
* Minimize business risk with a strong focus on fraud screening
* Work with multiple European portfolios
* Assess, analyze, and report exposure positions to determine risk levels
* Manage overtrade situations where customer exposures can change rapidly
* Make informed credit decisions based on financial analysis and recommendations
* Analyze customer financial statements and B2B Credit Reports
* Maximize volume and growth opportunities aligned with business goals
* Engage with in-country credit and sales teams daily
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Credit, Sales, and Customer Service teams
Experience you’ll bring:
* Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess financial information
* Previous experience in credit underwriting, analysis, or similar roles
* Experience working with main credit reference agencies
* Strong administrative skills, including data capture and reconciliation
* Advanced Excel skills
* Knowledge of underwriting in European countries
* European language skills are advantageous but not essential
* High attention to detail
* Ability to interface effectively with all management levels
