Warrington is looking to recruit substantively to the role of Director of Children's Services within the recently established People directorate. The postholder will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will take a lead role in delivering and developing high-quality, good-value services for children and young people.
The Role
We are seeking a substantive Director of Children's Services responsible for leading and managing Children's Services, including Education. You will provide universal and targeted services for children, young people, and their families, ensuring safeguarding and promoting their welfare. Working within a broader health and social care system in Warrington, you will develop and uphold professional standards, enhance practice, and drive transformational change.
You will oversee the delivery and strategic development of Children's Services, with the ability to lead other areas within the council. Collaborating closely with local and regional partners, you will prioritize the needs of children and young people, ensuring the principles and priorities of the Children's Bill are effectively implemented.
A market supplement to the salary may be available for an exceptional candidate, subject to agreement by Full Council and in line with the council's Market Supplement policy.

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will meet the Chief Executive, Lead Member, and Executive Director - People for individual interviews, participate in a stakeholder selection panel, and an appointing panel. Presentations will be part of the process and will be confirmed upon invitation.
