This is an excellent opportunity to come and join the Advanced Practitioner team at Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital. We are a specialist Cardiothoracic Trust which has received consistent 'Outstanding' ratings by the CQC. This Advanced Practitioner opportunity sits within the cardio thoracic surgical division and the successful candidate will become part of an established Surgical Advanced Practitioner team. This is an opportunity for candidates to join our team and develop their career in this speciality.
Applications are welcome from individuals who do not have the MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent) but are committed to undertaking this programme. This would be offered as a training position at a band 7 while completely the MSc programme.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Practitioner role is predominantly ward based, with clinical responsibilities driven by the medical management of the patients within the service. Alongside ward duties, Advanced Practitioner clinics and continued service development with also be an integral part of the role.

Job description
Job responsibilities
The Advanced Practitioner will work as an integral part of the medical workforce, whose daily workload is driven by the medical management of the patients within the service. This will be predominately ward based, working as part of the medical team and the wider multidisciplinary team. Support will be provided directly via the SpR and the consultant to which you are aligned to. The Advanced Practitioner will be included in the junior medical rota alongside a pool of other Advanced Practitioners and Junior Doctors collectively providing 24 hour cover for the acute service. Education and Experience
Essential
1. MSC in Advanced Practice or working towards
2. Non-Medical Prescriber
3. Evidence of extensive expert professional/clinical knowledge within an acute cardiothoracic setting
4. Evidence of involvement in the development of programmes of care, protocols and clinical audit
5. Evidence of relevant involvement in meeting the Trust clinical governance objectives
6. Effective communicator able to communicate complex and highly sensitive information
7. Evidence of effective people management and leadership skills
8. Computer Literacy
9. Ability to organise priorities and coordinate care.
10. Ability to work autonomously.
Desirable
11. Post basic qualification in speciality
12. Evidence of involvement in policy and practice change
13. Evidence in clinical examination
14. Evidence of proactive involvement in mentorship and development of clinical practitioners
