Assistant Houseparent
The Assistant Houseparent helps create and maintain an atmosphere in which all pupils feel welcomed, happy, well‑cared for and nurtured. The holder of this vital post will support the Houseparent in co‑ordinating the pastoral, academic, spiritual and co‑curricular development of the pupils in their care. The Assistant Houseparent will provide excellent, loco parentis care to our pupils, many of whom are far from home, and some with limited English.
Key Responsibilities
The role of Assistant Houseparent is to support the Houseparent in the running of the House, specifically in helping to create and maintain an atmosphere in which all pupils feel welcomed, happy, well‑cared for and nurtured. The Assistant Houseparent will also deputise for the Houseparent during their absences. The Assistant Houseparent is expected to play an active role in the life of the House, have regular contacts with the pupils and take a genuine interest in their pastoral care and academic progress.
