About the role
As a Back-end Engineer, you will be responsible for developing our core platform. You will also work closely with AI/ML engineers, data scientists and Front-end Engineers to ensure the seamless integration of AI and front-end features.
As with the rest of our team, we value well-engineered, maintainable solutions over quick fixes. We want someone who is excited to build scalable, production-grade systems — not just prototypes — and contribute to a thoughtful, collaborative team environment.
Target Requirements
* Competencies in our core platform stack (Python, AWS, terraform, GitLab CI) or highly transferrable skill analogues
* Understanding and experience with modern development cycle practices
* Analytical background, as evidenced by STEM degree in a technical subject
* Can navigate typical problems, contributes to discussion and helps refine technical requirements
* Delivers consistently under a typical collaborative framework (e.g. agile)
* Through experience, research, and/or collaboration, develops good and clean solutions to problems using the best tools available; doesn't hack fragile things together for short-term speed or to avoid discussion
Ideal/Bonus
* Capable of operating independently on existing or new systems while preserving and improving a consistent basic project structure
* Positive force in building up the team as we grow and develop into the more senior positions
* Introduces new technology and practices that accelerate us (e.g. through lunch and learn)
* Has experience with Golang and/or machine learning technologies, including MLOps and LLMs
* Has experience in a regulated environment (e.g. health, legal, financial)
