What will I be doing?
You will perform duties individually or as part of a team at a busy material transfer station, controlling, transferring, and stockpiling waste and recyclables.
The role will involve:
* Operating mobile and fixed plant equipment, including cleaning and maintenance.
* Managing traffic, such as guiding tipping vehicles.
* Operating the weighbridge and accurately recording vehicle weights and details.
* Ensuring compliance with legal duties regarding health, safety, and welfare of employees and the public.
* Cooperating with SUEZ and colleagues to adhere to site permits, legislation, and company policies.
* Providing excellent customer service by interacting with customers and the public.
* Performing additional duties as reasonably required, including first aid and fire safety responsibilities.
What are the requirements?
We seek an enthusiastic team player willing to learn about the site’s licensing system and ensure operations meet standards. Flexibility is essential to cover annual leave, weekends, and adapt to a challenging environment. The role requires:
* Operational experience and current licences for loading shovels, 360 tele-handlers, and forklifts.
* Opportunities for personal development in waste acceptance, equipment maintenance, and machinery operation.
* Experience in waste/recycling or similar environments is highly advantageous.
* Strong understanding and commitment to health & safety.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Good IT skills.
