Field Service Engineer
* Location: Nairn
* Pay: £16.00 - £17.50 per hour (depending on experience)
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week (40 basic + 2 at enhanced rate)

Are you an experienced Plant Fitter who enjoys variety in your work? We're looking for a skilled technician to join our team in Nairn, combining workshop-based repairs with on-site field service support across the region.
You'll play a vital role in keeping our fleet of plant hire equipment operating safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards - ensuring our customers can rely on every machine we provide.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on a range of plant hire machinery.
* Carry out servicing, maintenance, and inspections in both workshop and field environments.
* Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs to minimise downtime.
* Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and job reports.
* Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, providing clear updates and technical insight.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company and regulatory standards.
* Support a proactive maintenance culture, identifying issues before they become major problems.
What We're Looking For
* Relevant qualifications in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering (City & Guilds, NVQ, HND or equivalent).
* Proven experience maintaining and repairing plant machinery or similar heavy equipment.
* Strong fault‑finding skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
* A full UK driving licence and a strong commitment to Health & Safety.
