About the Role
* A confidential, rapidly growing organisation within the clinical trials and life sciences sector is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead the development and execution of its global supplier network.
* This is a high-impact role combining strategic sourcing leadership with hands-on operational execution, ensuring reliable, compliant, and cost-effective access to commercial drug products and related materials used in global clinical studies.
* You will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategy, strengthening supplier partnerships, and enabling seamless supply continuity across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Development
* Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned to current and future clinical trial requirements.
* Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers across key international markets.
* Maintain and expand product access across US, EU, LATAM, APAC, and MENA regions.
* Build and sustain strong, long-term supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
Demand-Led Supply Planning
* Collaborate closely with Clinical Trial Supply and Commercial teams to understand pipeline demand.
* Translate business needs into actionable sourcing and supplier engagement plans.
* Support forward planning, capacity management, and risk mitigation strategies.
Commercial & Cost Management
* Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
* Manage cost structures to support organisational margin and financial targets.
* Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance.
Supplier Qualification, Audit & Compliance
* Oversee supplier qualification, onboarding, and audit processes.
* Ensure all suppliers meet required regulatory, quality, and operational standards.
* Partner with Quality and Operations teams to resolve audit findings and compliance issues.
Supplier Performance Management
* Define and monitor supplier KPIs and service level agreements.
* Manage performance issues, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
Market Intelligence & External Engagement
* Monitor global market trends, availability risks, and sourcing challenges.
* Engage with suppliers, distributors, and industry networks.
* Represent the organisation at relevant supplier and industry engagements where required.
