We are recruiting for a leading food production company committed to delivering high-quality products to consumers. Our client supplies the big brand supermarkets with their products which are seen in households UK wide and even supply to Expats in Australia.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client’s production facility. Working in a dynamic environment, you will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks. Utilizing the Shires system, you will meticulously plan and document all engineering works on site. Conduct maintenance on machinery, fixtures, fittings, and buildings, including electrical systems. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations.
Collaborate with production and technical staff to identify areas for maintenance and engineering improvements. Manage the ordering and organization of plant/machinery items and spares. Ensure thorough documentation control for all maintenance activities. Execute all Planned Preventative Maintenance on schedule to company standards. Monitor machinery performance and proactively initiate improvement measures to minimize downtime.
Communicate safety issues, quality concerns, and machinery problems effectively. Support production improvements, projects, and reconfigurations as needed. Implement work in accordance with relevant business processes and quality systems. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
Full mechanical/electrical engineering apprenticeship - essential
Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a factory environment. Ability to prioritize engineering tasks based on production demands. Understanding of manufacturing health & safety - essential. Conduct maintenance activities in a safe and hygienic manner. Knowledge of refrigeration systems and gas certification is advantageous.
