Role Overview
The Large Pharma Accounts Business Development Manager (LPA BDM) supports the LS Partner team by generating business through engagement with senior executives in the pharmaceutical industry. The role involves cultivating relationships with top-tier pharma companies, positioning L.E.K. as a trusted advisor, and managing existing large Pharma accounts to ensure growth and satisfaction.
This position reports to the European Chief Commercial Officer and collaborates with various teams including the LS Partner team, Healthcare Practice Head, Marketing, and other sector BDMs. The role is preferably based in London, with consideration for candidates in Paris or Munich, and covers the European region.
Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
* Maintain and grow the LS Practice’s contact network and manage account information
* Engage with senior executives to secure meetings and build relationships
* Develop account plans, including growth strategies and revenue targets
* Conduct stakeholder mapping and monitor account progress
* Utilize L.E.K. content to enhance client communication
* Recognize and act on new business opportunities within organizations
Business Development & Strategy
* Identify new organizations and roles for business development
* Support sales strategies at sector and service line levels
* Assist in managing client interactions and developing account strategies
* Prepare client presentations and reports
* Track account performance and improve where needed
* Qualify opportunities and direct them appropriately
Sales Operations & Process Management
* Assign tasks and track metrics
* Manage CRM pipeline data
* Ensure adherence to sales best practices
Marketing & Content Collaboration
* Work with marketing to develop relevant content
* Track event outcomes and media developments
Team Leadership & Development
* Foster a commercial mindset and support leadership development within the team
Qualifications and Skills
* Commercial mindset with client empathy and sales focus
* Knowledge of the Life Sciences sector and organizational structures
* Experience engaging with senior executives, including C-suite
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple relationships
* Maturity, adaptability, and collaborative spirit
Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in business or biological sciences; advanced degree preferred
* At least 3 years in the Life Sciences sector, with experience in B2B sales and account management
* CRM experience, preferably Salesforce
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Fluency in French or German highly desirable; Spanish a plus
