Ecotricity Smart Grid (ESG) provides a route to market for distributed energy resources via our in-house developed asset flexibility platform and optimiser. These typically include grid-scale storage, renewable technologies, or aggregated demand-side response from domestic and business sites.
At the core of Ecotricity Smart Grid is our flexibility platform and optimiser, Ecolibrium, which continuously selects between multiple revenue streams based on their flexibility potential to maximise revenue. These revenues mainly come from various grid services, trading markets, and the Balancing Mechanism.
Good policy insight is essential for shaping the strategic direction of Ecotricity Smart Grid. Given the volume of code changes, modifications, and consultations, this role is vital for keeping us informed about upcoming industry developments.
You will attend industry working groups and forums, assess policy changes or modifications, and report on their expected impacts on our platform and operations. This information will inform our technical development planning and help refine our operational strategies to ensure ESG remains at the forefront of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Our industry frequently consults on changes to technical and regulatory factors that could affect us. Understanding these consultations, reporting back, and responding when necessary are key responsibilities of this role.
You will need to develop a deep understanding of the energy industry in GB, and potentially further afield. You should be comfortable attending industry workshops, presenting to internal and external stakeholders, and summarising complex industry documentation for diverse audiences.

* Being familiar with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or others.
What's in it for you...
* Healthcare plan, life assurance, and a generous pension contribution.
* Hybrid working arrangements.
* Various company discounts (shops, gyms, events).
* Holiday entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell days.
* Cycle-to-work scheme, carpooling, and onsite parking.
As a valued team member, you will support the Group Environmental Policy and its sustainability objectives and targets.

Ecotricity is Britain's greenest energy company. Since 1995, we've pioneered green electricity, building windmills, sun parks, and green gasmills in Britain. Our mission is to transform energy production and usage by replacing fossil fuels with renewable sources.
We reinvest our customers' bills into building renewable energy infrastructure and initiatives like Britain's first megawatt windmill, the first grid-scale sun park, and a green gasmill producing 100% green gas from renewable grass sources.
Our commitment extends beyond energy— we've built the Electric Highway, Britain's leading EV charging network; supported Forest Green Rovers to become the world's greenest football club; and launched Ecotalk, Britain's greenest mobile service, funding rainforest regeneration.
