Our client, based in Burton-upon-Trent, is seeking a hands-on Accounts Supervisor to join their small, dedicated finance team. Key Responsibilities: Manage the sales ledger process across multiple currencies, including preparing and issuing invoices, posting payments, reconciling accounts, and producing month-end reports. Carry out credit checksfor new customers and ensure accurate setup of new accounts on internal systems. Oversee credit control activities by following up on overdue balances, maintaining regular customer contact, and resolving payment or invoice discrepancies efficiently. Act as the first point of contact for queries within the finance team (two direct reports) and other departments, escalating issueswhere appropriate. Monitor workload and deadlines across the department, ensuring tasks are completed on time and highlighting any risks to the Financial Controller. Support the training and development needs of team members, helping to build knowledge and confidence within the department. Assist the Financial Controller with month-end close and other reporting requirements. Contribute to ongoing improvements in finance processes and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Provide cover for colleagues and undertake additional tasks as required to support the wider finance function. What Were Looking For: Previous experience in transactional finance, including sales ledger, credit control, and reconciliations. Payroll experience would be advantageous but not essential Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. A proactive and hands-on approach, suited to working in a small, collaborative team. High attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
