Overview
The Economy and Planning Department are seeking an Ecologist to join our busy Planning Policy team. You will be part of a friendly and welcoming team working in an area rich with internationally and nationally important wildlife sites and varied landscapes, including part of a wider Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Responsibilities
* Advising Development Management Officers on developments affecting ecology and supporting the preparation of planning policy and guidance.
* Consulting and liaising with other Council departments, applicants, agents and external organisations.
* Working with developers and stakeholders to identify solutions that enable high‑quality development while promoting the protection and enhancement of the County Borough's ecological assets.
* Participating in site visits and contributing to the development of environmental assessment procedures.
Qualifications
* Recognised qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
* Valid driving licence.
* Experience in planning is desirable but not essential.
* Capacity to work in both Welsh and English.
