💪 About the Role
We're on the lookout for a Domestic Abuse Practitioner to join our Family Safeguarding Team in Dudley on a 12-month maternity cover.
You'll be part of an amazing multi-disciplinary team (think social care, mental health, probation, and domestic abuse specialists all working together!) - supporting families to stay safe, recover from trauma, and build brighter futures.
Your days will be varied - one day you might be doing risk assessments and safety planning; the next you could be helping parents build confidence, attending multi-agency meetings, or sharing best practice with colleagues. No two days are ever the same, but every day you'll be changing lives.
🌼 What You'll Be Doing
Providing one-to-one and family support to those experiencing domestic abuse.
Helping parents and carers understand their rights and plan for safety.
Working with partner agencies to make sure families get the best possible support.
Using your trauma-informed practice to empower, not rescue - helping survivors regain control.
Keeping accurate records (we know, not the glamorous bit - but so important!) and sharing information safely.
🧠 What We're Looking For
You'll be someone who:
Understands the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on families.
Has experience working with vulnerable adults, children, or families.
A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field and experience in domestic abuse, safeguarding, or trauma-informed work would be ideal - but we care just as much about your passion and approach as we do your paperwork!
💜 What You'll Get
A supportive, empowering team that truly values what you do.
25 days annual leave (pro rata) + bank holidays, plus a wellbeing day each year.
Employee Assistance Programme for your own mental health and wellbeing.
Clinical supervision with a BACP-trained counsellor.
Training and development opportunities - we love to see our team grow.
Mileage allowance and 5% employer pension contribution.
Bi-annual staff away days (yes, we actually have fun!).
And if you love your time with us - there's always potential for future opportunities.
💡 A Few Practical Bits
You'll need a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
