About the Role The Assistant Plan Coordinator supports the Local Authority in fulfilling its statutory duties for children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The postholder manages casework, supports the Early Help Team, and ensures Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are issued and maintained in line with legal requirements. Key Responsibilities Support implementation of statutory duties relating to issuing and maintaining EHCPs. Respond to customer enquiries (including emotive or sensitive cases) across all communication channels, following the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding procedures. Deliver accurate information, advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding statutory SEN processes. Promote digital transformation by encouraging use of the Council’s online portal and reducing paper‑based applications. Prepare for and administer statutory assessment panels, including case tracking, agenda production, minute‑taking and dissemination of actions.
