Key Responsibilities of Individual Needs Assistant (INA)
* Personalised Support: Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to learners with a range of additional needs, including learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, or emotional needs.
* Inclusive Practice: Adapt learning materials and approaches to ensure accessibility and engagement for all students.
* Emotional and Social Development: Build positive, trusting relationships with learners to support their confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
* Collaborative Working: Liaise with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement and review tailored support strategies.
* Progress Tracking: Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to planning and review meetings.
Requirements for an Individual Needs Assistant (INA)
* Experience: Previous experience supporting individuals with additional needs in an educational or care setting.
* Empathy & Patience: A calm, understanding, and proactive approach to supporting diverse learners.
* Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
* Qualifications: Relevant training or qualifications in special educational needs, education, or child development are desirable.
