Leaft Foods is at the forefront of sustainable food innovation, dedicated to transforming the way we produce and consume protein. Our mission is to harness the power of leaf proteins to create nutritious, environmentally friendly food products. By focusing on cutting-edge research and development, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of food production and provide healthier alternatives for consumers.

Leaft Foods is backed by high-quality investors, including Khosla Ventures, ACC, Ngāi Tahu, Steven Adams, Sir Stephen Tindall, ICEHOUSE Ventures and Dan Carter. Our backers allow us to push the boundaries of innovation and make significant strides in the food production industry.

Role Overview

As a Process Operator, you will be directly responsible for bringing our products to life. Your responsibilities will include operating within a shift in our new and innovative manufacturing process. This will include manual operation of equipment and troubleshooting issues with the help of the wider Leaft team. You will work alongside other operators and engineers on both day and night shifts.

Who We're After

If you're enthusiastic, excited about making groundbreaking changes in NZ's food industry and would thrive in a high speed start-up environment, we're keen to talk.

Operators with experience in food production and recent graduates in STEM and ag fields should apply.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate and maintain pilot plant equipment
* Monitor and control processing equipment to ensure consistent and high-quality product output
* Assist in quality control activities, including sampling, testing, and documentation of production batches
* Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve equipment-related challenges
* Leverage knowledge of HACCP and GMP principles to safely produce food
* Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and achievement

Skills and Qualifications

* Prior experience in food manufacturing or STEM/Ag graduate
* Ability to work in a shift-based schedule on both day and night shifts
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

This is a fixed-term role through to the end of our production season (June 2026).
