Our Private Client Tax Services team helps individuals from all walks of life with their tax issues. With over 6,000 private tax clients and 1,500 trusts, our team’s client base is diverse, including high-net-worth families, entrepreneurs, business owners, and family businesses.
You will join a team that supports clients in meeting their tax compliance obligations and liaises with HMRC on their behalf. This includes preparing tax returns, repayment claims, computations, accounts, and handling correspondence from HMRC.
What will you be doing?
As part of our Private Client Tax team, you will gain practical experience, advising on tax-efficient strategies or assisting clients with financial planning while studying.
You will take on responsibilities early in your career. By the second year, you will handle more senior roles with smaller clients and supervise new trainees. Opportunities may include control reviews and due diligence projects as you gain experience.
During your training, you will study towards the ATT/CTA qualifications and achieve the Level 7 Apprenticeship qualification, developing essential soft skills.
You will start studying for your first professional exams with support from experienced team members and a leading UK training provider.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Liaising with clients and third parties for information
* Preparing basic tax returns or repayment claims
* Advising clients on tax liabilities and matters
* Assisting in tax advice, technical research, and report drafting
* Dealing with correspondence via letter, email, or phone
To be successful, you should:
* Commit to completing the ATT/CTA qualifications on a Level 7 apprenticeship
* Have a minimum of 112 UCAS points in top three A Levels (or equivalent), excluding General Studies
* Achieve at least Grade 5 (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths GCSEs
Learning & Development
You will be supported in gaining finance knowledge, accountancy skills, and business experience. You will join a cohort with personal support, including a buddy. Training will be provided by a leading UK provider, with time allocated for study and skill development. Our dedicated team will guide you throughout your journey.
Benefits include:
* Fully funded professional qualification training
* Competitive salary
* Private medical insurance
* Life assurance
* Pension scheme
* Generous holiday allowance and options to purchase more
* Cycle to work scheme
* Season ticket loan
* Shared parental leave
* Eye care support
We value diversity and inclusion, fostering a respectful environment where all colleagues can thrive. We offer reasonable adjustments during the application process—please inform your recruiter of your needs.
Important application notes:
* Only one application per recruitment season; re-apply next year if unsuccessful
* For experience, enter 'N/A' if none, with dummy dates
* Include only your latest degree in the education section; additional degrees are optional
* Upload a resume/CV as it is mandatory for review
* The message to the hiring manager is optional and not reviewed
