Overview
The R2 Customs First Line Manager leads a customs team and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the end-to-end customs processes for goods moving from the EU into the UK. The role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and customs compliance expertise to deliver efficient cross‑border movements.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all export and import documentation is prepared in accordance with EU and UK customs requirements
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK customs processes and EU export regulations
* Collaborate with internal teams (Planning, NDNS, EU control towers, brokers and freight forwarders) to meet accuracy and SLA targets
* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
* Manage a team of two customs administrators
Qualifications
* Previous transport planning experience
* Previous customer service experience
* Experience managing people
* Proficient IT skills, such as Excel
* Experience with customs and brokers
