Job responsibilities About the role As an HCA you will work under the direction of a shift coordinator, providing family centred care for babies, children and young people who have a range of complex needs or who are palliative and at the end of life. You will assist in all aspects of personal care, supporting the implementation of care plans as well as organise and participate in hydrotherapy, music therapy or art therapy sessions. You will also work alongside families, supporting siblings during sibling events and whilst resident at the Hospice, participating in outings or activities. About you As the ideal candidate, you will already be an experienced HCA or have a relevant background in caring for others within a school, community, or health care setting. It is desirable for you to have experience working with babies, children, or young people with complex needs and to understand the high standard of clinical care needed for those who are palliative and at the end of life. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team is essential. It is desirable for you to understand safeguarding as well as professional boundaries as this will be assessed at interview stage.
