RWDI is seeking an experienced acoustician with 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience to join our Noise Acoustics and Vibration team at our Brighton office as a Senior Acoustic Consultant (Scientist/Engineer)
This role includes but is not limited to:
4. Outlining a scope of work for new projects.
5. Conducting and guiding others to perform environmental and on-site noise and vibration measurements.
6. Good working knowledge of Building and Architectural acoustics disciplines (sound insulation, Reverberation times etc).
7. Conducting environmental noise and vibration assessments autonomously.
8. Performing computer modelling using SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, Odeon and Insul.
9. Designing effective noise and vibration mitigation measures.
10. Guiding small teams for larger projects.
11. Developing strong working relationships with clients.
12. Meeting and exceeding client expectations and project milestones.
13. Writing clear and concise technical project reports on large and small projects.
14. Providing advice on technical problems and following the appropriate quality control procedures.
15. Corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA/FIOA).
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:
16. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Acoustical, Civil, Architectural Acoustics Engineering or Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline, preferably with focus on acoustics, noise and/or vibration.
17. Demonstrated experience in acoustic design, environmental noise and vibration engineering and relevant testing instrument.
18. In depth understanding of noise guidelines, noise modelling techniques, and calculations.
19. Experience with SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, Odeon and Insul.
20. Track record of developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients.
21. Ability to successfully meet schedules and control costs.
22. Demonstrated initiative, independent problem-solving methods/capabilities, exceptional coordination and consultation skills.
23. An ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment to provide practical solutions with minimal supervision, while multi-tasking in meeting deadlines.

33. Full, clean UK driving license.
Experience in the following areas would be considered an asset:
34. Advanced level Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities
35. Intermediate level user of CadnaA, SoundPLAN, or similar software
36. Intermediate level user of AutoCAD and reading Engineering Drawings
37. Preferable, Intermediate level user of ArcGIS, QGIS or similar GIS package.
