Job Description:
We are currently hiring Robot Welder Operators for an industry leader in UK’s Building Services sector, specialising in the manufacture of offsite-prefabricated building service solutions for projects throughout the UK & Europe.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:30 Friday 07:00-13:30 (40 hours)
Job Summary:
Weld a range of pipe arrangements from shop drawings. The ability to produce welds by GMAW with the opportunity for the successful candidates to develop their skills to our in-house welding procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take direction from Site Supervisor on work requirements, ensuring Pipes are welded in a prompt manner and production output figures are met.
* Read and fully understand the drawings for each project.
* Weld pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel ranging from 125mm – 500mm) from shop drawings.
* Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to discuss issues or concerns during welding.
* Ensure adherence to company welding procedures and standards.
* Maintain good relationships with colleagues while ensuring high productivity.
* Undertake training as per company standards.
* Liaise with Quality Control regarding defects and non-conformances.
* Follow Company H&S Processes.
* Progress work in a timely manner according to workload and specifications.
* Set an example on site.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
* At least 3 years’ experience programming, setting, and operating a Robot Welding Machine in an engineering environment.
* At least 3 years’ experience as an experienced Welder, including GMAW.
* In-depth knowledge of Weld Defects.
* Proven troubleshooting skills during welding.
* Ability to interpret welding procedures.
* Experience with shop floor hand tools like grinders.
* Confidence in understanding shopfloor drawings.
Desirable:
* Experience as a Welder producing various pipe arrangements with TIG/MAG.
* Experience in heavy fabrication, architectural steelwork, or welding.
