An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk & Compliance professional, reporting directly to the Executive Director Risk and Compliance, supporting our Property Management (PM) business to drive our commitment to quality risk management.
We seek a professional skilled in assessing, managing, and mitigating risk, as well as improving controls and MI within a broader Risk Management Framework. Experience may come from roles within regulatory areas of Real Estate, Banking, or Auditing sectors.
The role requires influencing and supporting the heads of business. Our preferred location is Glasgow, followed by Edinburgh and London, depending on where the business is based. Travel will be required to our offices and some client locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the PM UK risk register
* Assess risks across our Risk Taxonomy, report findings, and support risk management strategies
* Attend the PM Risk Committee and contribute to the CBRE Advisory Risk Committee, suggesting risk mitigation strategies
* Develop and implement risk & compliance training for PM staff in collaboration with senior stakeholders
* Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees reporting serious irregularities
* Handle corporate governance and external risk reporting
* Maintain ‘Internal Audit’ assurance policies and communicate perceived risks to PM
* Coordinate with CBRE Advisory Legal and Global audit teams as needed
Compliance
* Ensure business compliance with regulations such as RICS and legislative changes
* Understand duties under RICS standards and practices
* Review and approve changes to revenue and cost recovery streams and related documents
* Support the annual service charge budgeting process and review amendments to LOB agreements
* Provide advice and support to the Risk & Compliance leadership, including monitoring and reporting
Audit
* Implement the annual Internal Audit Assurance Programme for PM, including quarterly audits
* Support maintenance of ISAE3402 Accreditation
* Manage ISO and RICS audit requirements for PM
* Develop proactive and ad-hoc site audits to reduce claims and improve governance
* Review processes, procedures, and controls in line with the Audit Programme
* Assist with client SOX testing and external compliance audits
Person Specification
* 10+ years’ experience in risk management, compliance, or internal audit
* Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in Real Estate, with influence capabilities with senior executives
* Understanding of ISAE3402 compliance
* Strong change management and leadership skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to develop solutions for complex problems
* Willingness to travel within the UK (~once per month)
